Steakhouse Bacon Burgers

featuring our Hamburger Butter Buns

Servings: 6 per recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 Slices of Bacon

  • 4 Nature’s Own Hamburger Butter Buns

  • 2 tsp Duck Fat Spray

  • 4 - 1/4 lb High-Quality Hamburger Patties

  • 3 Tbsp Steakhouse Seasoning

  • Pinch of Salt

  • 1 Medium Onion, sliced

  • 4 oz Hickory Smoked Gruyère Cheese, Sliced

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise

  • 2 Tbsp Garlic Paste

  • 4 Lettuce Leaves

  • 1 Large Tomato, sliced

Directions

  1. Start by grilling the bacon on a baking rack at 375 degrees for 25 minutes, with the lid closed, flipping halfway through. Remove the bacon from the heat and pat any excess grease with a paper towel.

  2. Turn the grill up to 450 degrees.

  3. Spray the inside of the buns with a bit of cooking oil and place them on the top rack of the grill for 2 to 3 minutes, to toast. Remove from heat.

  4. Season your burger patties on both sides with the steakhouse seasoning of your choice and a pinch of salt.

  5. Once the grill is up to temp add the burgers to the bottom rack and grill each side for 4 to 5 minutes. Close the hood to speed up the process.

  6. As the burgers grill up, add the sliced onion to the grill to char up and season both sides with the same steakhouse seasoning. Grill the onions next to the burgers for 3 to 4 minutes per side.

  7. Once the burgers are close to being done, add the sliced Hickory Smoked Gruyère Cheese to each burger patty.

  8. Close the lid to assist in the cheese melting.

  9. Top the burgers with the grilled onions.

  10. Remove the burgers from the grill and let them rest.

  11. As the burgers rest, mix up some Garlic Aioli by combining the mayonnaise, garlic paste, and a half tablespoon of the steakhouse seasoning (This can be made ahead of time and refrigerated as well).

  12. Spread a spoonful of the garlic aioli on the bottom bun. Start to layer your burger with lettuce, tomato slice, cheesy burger patties, and bacon slices, and top with the bun crown. Repeat for each burger.
