Fondue Cheese Burger

Ingredients

  • 4 Perfectly Crafted Everything Buns

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef

  • tablespoons of salt, pepper, granulated garlic and paprika

  • 6-8 slices of applewood smoked thick-style bacon

  • fresh spinach

  • red onion (thinly sliced)

  • 1/2 pound Swiss cheese (grated)

  • 1/2 pound Gruyere cheese (grated)

  • 2 tablespoons corn starch

  • 1 cup dry white wine

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

 
 

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, toss the cheeses together with the cornstarch, coating the cheese. Set aside.

  2. Over medium heat, add the wine and lemon juice in a small saucepan and bring to a slight simmer.

  3. Gradually stir the cheese into the simmering liquid, constantly stirring so that the result is a smooth and creamy fondue. Reduce to low and cover.

  4. Pan fry the bacon until slightly crispy, place on paper towel to cool.

  5. Divide burger meat into 4 serving and form patties. Add seasonings to both sides of each patty. Heat skillet to medium high heat.

  6. Once the pan is good and hot place the burger patty in the pan. Let sit for

  7. about 3 to 5 minutes. Flip the burger and cook for additional 3 - 5 minutes.

  8. Set burger aside and tent with tinfoil.

  9. Assemble bun on plate, with bottom of bun first, a bed of spinach leaves (destemmed), then red onion slices, then burger patty, and bacon.

  10. Serve on table, topping each burger with the warm cheese fondue, and finally, the top of the bun. Enjoy!
