Irish Stout Hot Cheese Dip
Featuring our Perfectly Crafted Rye Bread
Yields 6 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf of Nature’s Own Perfectly Crafted Soft Rye Bread
- Olive Oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
- Salt to taste
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 7 oz. Irish cheese, such as Dubliner, grated
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup Stout beer
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
- Place the Nature’s Own Perfectly Crafted Soft Rye bread on a sheet pan. Brush both sides with olive oil and sprinkle with a few pinches of salt. Bake for 10-12 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through.
- Once cool, cut the toasts into triangle toast points.
- Heat a 10” skillet on medium-low heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Add in the sliced onions, sprinkle in a generous pinch of salt. Cook slowly, tossing occasionally until the onions are softened and eventually caramelized to a golden brown, about 25 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, add the softened cream cheese, half of the grated cheese, mayonnaise, and the caramelized onions.
- Pour in the Stout beer and stir until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Spread the mixture into an oven-safe baking dish, sprinkle the remaining cheese, and back for 25-28 minutes. Allow the dip to cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Serve the dip with the Perfectly Crafted Soft Rye toast points.
