Honey Glazed Ham and Roasted Pineapple

featuring our Hawaiian Loaf Bread

Ingredients

  • 8 Slices Nature's Own Hawaiian Bread

  • 6 slices of thick sliced deli Ham

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup plain sugar

  • 1 fresh pineapple, cored and sliced

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1/2 cup honey

 
 

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine both brown sugar and white sugar together.

  • Take 4 slices of pineapple and press each side into the sugar mixture

  • Melt butter in a nonstick fry pan, and over medium-low heat, place pineapple slices in the pan. Cook on both sides of just over a couple minutes each, until pineapple begins to brown.

  • Take remaining sugar mixture and sprinkle over each slice of ham. Place each piece of ham - sugar side up - a parchment-lined baking sheet. Drizzle each slice with a spoon full of honey. Set oven to broil - low. Place baking sheet in middle of oven and cook until sugar begins to bubble.

  • Remove from oven and allow to cool.

  • Toast each slice of Nature's Own Hawaiian bread.

  • Place one slice of ham, then pineapple slice on toasted bread, then ham and pineapple again before topping the sandwich with top piece of toast.
