Cheeseburger Dip with Bun Dippers

Ingredients

  •  1 lb lean ground beef

  •  1 cup chopped onion

  •  1 clove garlic, minced

  •  12oz pasteurized prepared cheese product, (Velveeta®), cut up

  • 2/3 cup chopped tomato

  • 3 Tbsp tomato paste

  • 3 Tbsp yellow mustard

  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 to 3 Tbsp milk (optional)

  • Chopped tomato, onions, and dill pickles

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

  • 12 Nature's Own Brioche Style Butter Buns, split

 
 

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium-high heat until meat is browned. Drain off fat.

  2. In a 2- to 3 1/2-quart slow cooker, combine meat mixture and the next five ingredients (through Worcestershire sauce). Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or on high for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir. If needed, stir in milk to reach the desired consistency.

  3. Serve immediately or keep warm, covered, on warm for up to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Top with tomato, onions, and pickles to serve.

  4. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375°F. In a small bowl, combine butter, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Brush cut sides of buns with butter mixture. Cut each half diagonally into triangles. Place in a shallow baking pan and bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned and crisp, stirring once. Cool on a wire rack. Serve with Cheeseburger Dip for dipping.

Skillet version:

Cook beef, onion, and garlic as directed in step 1. Return drained meat to skillet and stir in tomato paste, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Add chopped tomato and cheese cubes to the skillet. Cook over medium-low for 6 to 8 minutes or until fully melted and well mixed, stirring frequently. If needed, stir in milk to reach the desired consistency. Top with tomato, onions, and pickles to serve. Serve with bun dippers as prepared in step 4.

Serving Size: 1/4 cup dip + 3 dippers

Yield: about 4 cups dip and 48 triangle-shaped dippers
