Bananas Foster French Toast

featuring Nature’s Own Butterbread

 

Ingredients

FRENCH TOAST:

  • 1 Loaf of Nature's Own Butterbread

  • Tablespoon of Vanilla

  • 4 eggs

  • 2 Cups Half & Half

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 Stick Butter

    BANANAS FOSTER SAUCE:

  • 1/2 stick butter

  • 1 and a Half Cups Brown Sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 3 Bananas (quartered slices)

  • 1/2 Cup Dark Rum

  • 1/4 Cup Banana Liqueur

  • 3 Bananas (quartered slices)

 
 

Directions

In a mixing bowl, combine 4 eggs, 2 cups of half and half, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla. Beat until well blended.

On a nonstick griddle or griddle pan, melt 1/4 stick of butter on medium heat.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture until fully coated (2 times).

Place on griddle and cook until each side is slightly brown.

While French toast is cooking, you can make the sauce.

Melt butter and brown sugar together, and add cinnamon.

Once melted into caramel, add sliced bananas.

Coat bananas and then add rum and banana liqueur.

Carefully flambee the liqueur.

Continue spooning the sauce over the bananas in the pan.

Plate the French Toast and spoon the bananas with the sauce on top of each French Toast stack.
