Meatball Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 1 -1/2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/4 cup sliced onion

  • 1/4cup green bell pepper strips

  • 3 ounces (6) frozen Italian-style meatballs (1/2 ounce size), quartered

  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce

  • 1/2 of a pkg. Nature’s Own Perfectly Crafted Artisan Flats (4 ct), warmed*

  • 2 ounces shredded provolone cheese (1/2 cup)

 
 

Directions:

  1. In a small skillet heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and green bell pepper strips and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until starting to get tender. Add meatballs and pizza sauce and continue cooking for 5 minutes or until meatballs are heated through (165°F).

  2. Portion meatballs and sauce onto warmed Artisan Flats. Sprinkle with cheese and serve immediately. Or to melt the cheese, place flatbreads under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes, or until cheese melts.

    Tips:  *To warm flatbreads:

     Wrap Bistro Flats in aluminum foil. Heat in a 350°F oven for 15 minutes.

    To use the whole package of four Artisan Flats, double the recipe.
